Henry County Planning to Move Forward with a New Arena and Convention Center

A state-of-the-art arena and convention center is getting closer to being a reality in Henry County through a public/private partnership with Forest Development Group, Inc. who is redeveloping pristine property located in the area of I-75 and I-675 and donating 80 acres to be used by Henry County to build a world-class convention center, as part of a major mixed-use development that is set to transform the Southside.

Introducing the New Highway138 Stockbridge

The revitalization of Hwy 138 also known as Lake Spivey Parkway Stockbridge is finally underway. A new hotel will join the new Fairfield Inn along the highway next to the CVS Pharmacy on a parcel in front of Kohl’s. The new Best Western Plus hotel will adhere to the Hwy 138 Overlay requirements including upgraded building standards mandating a brick, stone, or stucco exterior finish as well as a 10 foot walking path already in place along with upgraded landscaping requiring sod, trees, shrubs, and upgraded vegetation. Just across Lake Spivey Parkway a new Wendy’s is under construction with a late January opening date. Even more exciting is the Chick-Fila Dwarf House at 3649 Lake Spivey Parkway Stockbridge will be demolished for a new ground up Dwarf House that includes the new prototype building shared with Truett’s Grill. The demolition will begin soon. 

RockNRoll Sushi coming to Stockbridge.

The Rock'NRoll  Sushi chain is the latest addition to the thriving Eagles Landing area of Stockbridge along the red hot Hudson Bridge Road and Eagles Landing Pkwy corridor. RockNRoll Sushi adds the variety many residents are looking for with many concerned with the lack of dining options especially healthy choices. The new unit will be located in the outparcel under construction in the Hudson Bridge Walmart power center next to the Bank of America. The thriving Eagles Landing Pkwy corridor has seen an explosion in development with a Tru by Hilton Hotel, Zoe’s Kitchen, Panera Bread, Jersey Mike’s, and SmashBurger recent announced!

Stockbridge has a Dog Park for pet owners!

The Stockbridge Dog Park located at Clark Park 111 Davis Road is made just for man or woman’s best friend! The park includes separate large and small dog areas, water fountains for pet and pet owners! Pet Owners particularly enjoy the shaded areas in the dog park. Councilman Elton Alexander will be proposing reinvestment and improvements for the Stockbridge Dog park after his weekend visit to meet with pet owners and pets at the park to garner feedback on needed improvement and equipment needing repair. The plan is to make the Stockbridge Dog park a model for the area, said Alexander!
